Looking for H original brake bands

I just placed a classified ad looking for original H brake bands. I'm posting this because I never look at the classifieds...

I want a set of the original bands with the heavy eye rivited to the top end of the band. None of the rolled and spot welded aftermarket junk please. The friction material can be worn out, but the metal must be in good condition. I'm offering $30 for a set plus shipping.

Thanks

Greg

I was there today picking up brake parts for my 1942 H. I dismantled a couple of sets of brakes to get the right condition part I needed, and found at least 3 really nice shape brake bands. One was the type you are looking for (although it had the least lining). He will be open on Tuesday at 9:00. Ask for John, and tell him I sent you. His worker Butch knows where they are at.

I had mine relined with the orginal type material at a carb shop, i dont know if you have the original metal but most carb shops can re line them i would think

I"ve got a set of used brake bands from an H. I"m not sure if they are original bands or not, but they definitely are NOT of the current aftermarket variety, and they DO NOT have the brackets riveted to the bands. The brackets are spot welded on. The lining IS riveted to the band. I"ve also got a set of brand new brake bands for an H, as well as a set for an M. The brand new bands for the M DO HAVE the brackets riveted on, but the new bands for the H have the brackets spot-welded on, just like the old, old set. I strongly suspect that the original H bands had the brackets spot welded on also.
