Cub Carb????

Want to purchase a new carb for my 48 Cub. It originally had the IH carb. I noticed on the Farmall Cub site, an add for a NEWLY manufactured carb with out the IH cast into the bowl. That doesn't matter to me, I am however interested in the quality. Anyone here have any experience with one of these? On the other hand can anyone suggest a place that sells rebuilt original IH carbs that are done right at a fair price? I tore into my original and found that the idle tube had been broken years ago and someone had attempted to drill it out but enlarge the hole AND went too deep, so I guess it is trashed. Thanks

47H,
I have a brand-new cub carburetor (not OEM) in the original box and I’ll take $150 for it. Send me an email if you’re interested.

Thanks and have a good day,

If I were you I would go over to Farmallcub dot com and post a question about your situation. Fella over there had a picture of a carb that had been drilled too deep and fixed with JB Weld. His was right thru the outer casting. Not saying yours is salvageable but??? Mine was broken off when I got it too but I took mine out with a reversing bit and chased it with a tap and it works now...in fact I started her up for the first time yesterday. Steiner has a good carb guy that works there if you need a complete replacement. They also have a salvage yard called Grand Blanc Tractor Sales...maybe get you one that you could work on. Good luck with it and I'll watch for you over on the Cub site!
