Needing help in making an adjustment on my 400 Diesel. I have to hold back on the lever to keep it running on gas. Can someone help me thru the adjusting of this.

Unless you have had it apart, it is most likely not an adjustment that is needed. I would check the latch up in behind carburetor area, on the cross shaft, it has a spring on it and where it pivots on the stud they like to rust up and not move freely so it won't latch in gasoline position or spring is gone.

Thanks for the help. I should have mentioned that I did change the intake manifold. It don't require a lot and sometimes it will latch for a little bit.
Again Thanks,
Dale

If you had it apart, you probably need to readjust the linkages. There is a detailed procedure in the manual that tells how to make the adjustments with a feeler gauge. Roger
