Woods mower on Farmall A

Is a 6' Woods belly mower to much for a regular Farmall A? Used to have an L59 on it, but it was sold. Have a chance to get a 6 footer that came off a C. Would the mounts be pretty much the same? Another question, What is the difference in horsepower between A and Super A? Thanks for your help.

super a and a will both have the 113 engine unless it has been fitted with 123 cu in sleeves at sometime.

in my opinion the 59 in mower is as big as i would go.

The A will run that mower just fine, I run a 60" with my Cub and it does not seem to give it much trouble. Make sure to keep the blades sharp and done let the grass get to high before cutting.

The A and Super A has the same engine, (113) and the same HP. The Super A1 has the 123 engine. There is 1 hp difference between the Farmall C pto HP and the Farmall A pto Hp. 20 vs 19. Who knows why? Perhaps one was running better when they were tested.

The mounts for a C will not fit the A. You'ld have to get mounts for an A from Woods

The C has a higher RPM rating thus the higher hp then the A.

I use a 6'with a B and as long as I don't let it go to long it does fine. The B as the same motor as the A. It is kind of heavy to lift with a manual lift.

Governed rpm of C is 1650, A is 1400.
