1066 Hi Lo Range yoke pin

The shaft (IH calls it a pin I believe) that the hi lo range yoke is mounted on is broken at the 5/16" retaining bolt. Is there any way to install a new one without splitting the tractor? Can it be accessed through the rear axle housing somehow?
I believe a two piece shaft could be made and installed from above. Any thoughts on that?
Also the back section of the pin got pushed backwards into the rear housing. Would it have gone to the bottom? Will is cause more breakage?
Thanks,
Roger

Put many in from the rear. Pull 3rd arm cover plate off and pin is over the top of differential. It is a long reach and I have short arms. No problem punching old one out but I stick new one on end of a stiff hose and fish it into place. Latest pins have two snap rings instead of bolt, if you get that style you will most likely have to grind a little off the fork so you have room to install both snap rings. C-clips more correctly. If old one has fallen into rear it may be difficult to get out from under pto, might have to pull pto to do it if it lodges.

My installation tool is a piece of 1/2" electrical conduit with about 6 inches of 5/8" heater hose on one end. It is long enough that I don't have to have my arm inside the rear frame blocking the view of the hole.

Thanks Owen and pete.
Got the new shaft today and got it installed this evening with a hose. Was able to fish out the broken shaft end also. The reverse yoke is also broken but had to order that.
I will be on the road for the real job that pays the bills so it will be the end of the week to tackle the reverse yoke and put the rest back together.
Thanks again for the advice,
Roger
