RPRU - Super M at Consignment Auction.

If someone saw the very nicely restored Super M sell at the consignment auction I would appreciate the amount it brought. It was just an early no special features tractor (stage 1) and couldn't believe someone did that level of finish on just a plain Jane SM unless I missed something trying to stay out of the mud between rain showers. Thanks for your comments, Hal.

The auctioneer's site has all the winning bids plus pictures. You can find his link on the Red Power Forum. One of the recent topics is devoted to the auction. It appears that about 75% of the tractors got sold.

Glad to see you made the show from the east coast. We lost power at our hotel on Wednesday evening and couldn't get any type of commitment for when it would be restored other then sometime Friday so we left Thursday afternoon to return home. Missed a lot of stuff but was able to fill my shopping list as I got there a day early on Tuesday. Thanks for the info, Hal.

I could have missed it, but I looked through the auction list twice and the only gas SM I saw was a Louisville stage 2 with Charlyn power steering; it did not sell. As far as the "level" of restoration, there is only one way to do it, the right way. However, this tractor has visible flaws in the paint and dents in the grill, must not be the one you saw. I was sort of interested in the price, because I just bought a Stage 2 Lousiville Super M.

Charles, since the tractor was owned by the auction company I think they must not have listed it in the auction results as I thought it would have had a very high reserve and couldn't see why someone would have put so much work and expense in a common tractor. I'm almost sure it was not a stage 2 as that is one thing I look for. But like I said I might have missed something as it was very muddy around there and rain was coming and going when I was looking them over.
Being a Louisville doesn't add that much to one either. I'm very happy with my SMTA as it has it all for a M model series tractor. Glad you made the show as it was a little trip for you. I made hotel reservations for next year's RPRU already in Albert Lea, Minnesota as I didn't want to have to take what was left after all the better ones were filled up. Take care, Hal.

Didn't go out to the auction but glanced at the tractors the previous day. Don't remember the tractor you want to know about, but there was several Stage 2 SM tractors at the show without live hydraulics.
Should have wrote down some information on the SMTAD tractor in the auction. It had some major non original castings on it. Can't remember for sure but think its the one that sold.
Great show with a lot to see.

I didn't make the show as nearly all of them are further than I want to go. Closest one was Columbia, MO, but I was in the process of getting ready to move that summer. Nothing special about a Louisville M, but I kind of wanted a Stage 2 and this one happened to be a Louisville. Have not even seen it yet, waiting to be shipped from Mike at Steel Wheel Ranch. "Only" 350 miles away, but I don't like the idea of pulling it with my half ton, but I may have to.
