Farmall M Weight

what does a M weigh ??????? well there a lot to take into account here tire size are they loaded does it have wheel weights on it , narrow ft. wide ft. does it have a loader ?? A M can weigh in a little over 5000 lbs to real close to 10000 lbs depending what is on it . I have hauled a lot of tractors over the years and learned real fast that never go by the shipping weight as that is the weight given as DRY weight or some call it shipping weight . so hauling a tractor or any piece of equipment is like going hunting for big game ya don't go bear hunting with a 22 ya make sure that ya have something that will get the job done and done safely to you .

Geez, I guess we all cant be as smart as TV is, he knows everything. If you fiqure 6500, you should be safe. The more important question would be is what is he planning to haul it with?

Minimum 5100, add 280 lbs for each set of rear weights, loaded tires will add 1200+ lbs. Wide front maybe 100 lbs?

Sure makes sense to me.Why would you buy a tractor not knowing whatis the approx wt the difference can be a bunch depending like you said what has been added.

He should be OK. Will be hauling it on a gooseneck pulled by Chevy 2500 with Duramax engine and Allison transmission. Thanks for all the replies.
The trailer does have brakes.

Dont worry about it. He'll be fine with that set up. Some on here beleive you HAVE to have a dually and a 26000lbs traler to haul an M. what hes pulling it with will work just fine. I do it with the same setup!

Tractor vet must have a M and a 806 mixed up in his mind. It would take loaded tires, wide front, and ten(10) set of rear wheel weights to get a M to 10,000 #
