farmall sidehill hitch

restoring a 47H almost done,i have a sidehill hitch for it was wondering what color blue is the hitch and does the entire hitch get painted or just parts of it. thanks

I also have a sidehill hitch on my H. It works great for plowing. I never thought about any part of it being blue...I just painted it all red.
Jim, old Harvester Blue can be matched with NAPA #53 3736A.
I hope someone answers you with info of any part of it being blue.

on mine it has traces of blue on the fan and lever

I have one that has original red paint on it. Another guy has one on a restored tractor and he painted it red. And he's the kind of guy that makes sure things are painted correctly.

As with certain plow parts, are you seeing blue slag left over from the forging process and mistaking it for the blue paint? It may be possible that it was painted blue, but it probably looks better painted red.
