the 100 carb housing has a fine crack in the corner where the 90 degree brass fitting threads in. Can it be properly welded with a wire welder & certain flux core wire ?

I've seen carbs sealed up with JB Weld and working well. Not sure how bad yours is or if welding would work but what are you out to try? If it were me, though, I would be looking to replace it down the road if not right away. Stuff like that always seems to come back and get me when I am least wanting it too.

Yep that is a job for JB-weld. ALL carbs I have ever seen that where welded never worked again because the welding caused them to twist out of shape and then things like the float etc did not work right

Cast iron cannot be welded with a wire welder easily, you would need to take it to a special shot to have it welded for you, and that might deform the shop, try going to a salvage yard and pick up a new carburetor or even just the peace that broke.

Back in late sixtys soon after I bought my A I found that I needed carb. Had friend that ran large salvage yard and when I checked with him and said he did not have a good one but had one that had one of the mounting "ears" welded on that he would give me. Well over 40 years later it is working fine and even though it has not been started in couple of months I will bet it will start up and run good today.

I just bought 2 M Cores from JP Tractor Parts a week ago and cost me 40.00 ea.That and a rebuild kit, I got me 2 good carbs.(Gotta have a Backup!)

I have had several brazed with good results.
I never had anyone try welding one but I'm sure it can be done.
