battery not charging

We have a farmall super a that has been converted to 12v before we bought it last fall. The problem we are having is the battery is not charging. The alternator has been checked and the voltage regulator has been change and it still wont charge the battery. The next thing is going to be check the battery. Any other suggestions. Thanks

Golly....the FIRST thing I do is check the battery. Have you had it on the charge OFF the tractor? I have a battery shop in town that tests them for free (they oughta, I buy a lot of batteries!) and tells me the status of them. After that you need to get out the wiring diagram and run the connections. Most conversions I have seen have REALLY bad wiring jobs on them. Once you have checked the components what else is left? I guess it is because I used to do old jukes but my way of doing it is to start at one end and check every inch of the circuit, including wires and connections, until I find the problem or come out the other side. if it is a generator you might want to try repolarizing it
