front wheels - 806

We need a new front wheel for our 7806 - Southeast South Dakota - our nearest junk yard is probably a couple hours away - is there a good junkyard that would send one UPS or does anyone know a good place a new one wouldn't be too expensive?

I think the overall problem is at the top of the front spindle there is a lot of play where it attaches to the arm that in turn goes to the tie rod - there is not so much play in the tie rods themselves but at that mounting point at the top of the spindle. I think the wheels aren't aligned anymore and are pulling outward too much because of all that slop/play that is there in both wheels....any good options?

Sounds like you need to replace the spindle bushings, and possibly you might need new spindles as well as a new spindle thrust bearing. All of that stuff can be UPS"d right to your door as well as a new wheel.

you are dreaming - any tire shop around here might havc some new chrome 24" wheels for your new super duty......but nothing an ordinary farmer type could want.....i might call the local tractor tire dealer though.....

Have you tried a tire shop? The ones around here don't stock tractor or implement wheels, but they can get a new or used one pretty quick.

Farmall 806 could be had with 15" OR 16" wheels and International 806 coud be had with 18" or 20" front wheels. What do you have. Tractor salvage yards will probably have what you need.

There is a salvage yard in Rock Valley Iowa, probably a 30-40 min drive from Sioux Falls. They should have what you need. Phone# (712) 476-5301

yes, we always went to the combine salvage yard in Rock Valley, and I knew that had been sold and reorganized... I forget there was also a tractor salvage yard.....

I can see that toe in or toe out alignment of both front wheels would wear out the tires, but I can not see it causing a problem that would necessitate replacing the wheel ( rim ). It could have been damaged in some other manner and if your wheel ( rim ) is cracked or broken or has wallowed out lug bolt holes , yes replace it. As someone else said , it sounds as if you need to replace the spindle ( technically called the steering knuckle )and the steering knuckle arm and bushings. Those parts are available from several aftermarket suppliers and can be ordered from here at YTmag also. Look under "Marketplace" in top left corner of this page. Click on "Tractor Parts" and go from there.
