Spark advance position

I have not had my F-20 out for a year. I have forgot the position of the spark lever to start.
Is it up or down to start??

You want to retard the spark to start the engine easier and lessen the danger of a "kick-back" when using the hand crank. On the F-20 series, I think that was the down position.

All the way up or counterclockwise is the kill position, all the way down oc clockwise is full advance. You want to retard it part way from full advance to start.
