Farmall 450 Power Steering

I recently purchased a 450 and the power steering is sluggish/slow. I thought maybe that was just the nature of the beast until I recently sat on a 350 with factory PS which worked much better. Any advice on fixing or improving the PS?

My question to you is , if you hold an aux valve lever on demand will it steer better. If it does that indicates that your flow divider valve is worn and leaking past the lands, common problem. If it does not steer any better it would indicate a leaking steering unit, or relief valve, or weak pump. The flow divider spool is available at CaseIH, and easy access to replace. If new spool doesn't help, then valve body is worn also and it gets really expensive to have them rebuilt.

I haven't tried that, but I will.
I can not find any external leaks in the system.

I appreciate the information and I will proceed based on your advice.
