hello!
new to the site.i have been checking things out here for awhile and thought it was time to post.

i purchased a 3414 a few days ago needing carb repair.the rebuild kits available did not offer what i needed for the repair so i am awaiting one to arrive.i had a couple questions while i am waiting.

i have not yet picked up a manual for this machine and was wondering what kind of engine oil i need to run.also is there a special kind of hydraulic fluid you recommend to use or any brand will work.

last but not least i was wondering what my machine is capable of lifting both loader and 3 point.just to get an idea weight wise.

thank you in advance!!

What part is needed for the carb? Is it the VN or VNN British Zenith? One has an accelerator pump and one does not. Besides the overpriced kits, new throttle shafts and new floats are available from several places. Same carbs are used in England on many small cars.

In regard to engine oil, any off-road diesel oil will be fine, regardless if you've got the BC-144 gas engine or the BD-154 diesel. Requirements are no different than for any other 1960s-1970s tractor.

Front loaders on 3414s are usually rated as thus:

Lift capacity to full height is 2700 lbs.
Lift capacity to half height is 3300 lbs.
Breakout force at ground level is 4000 lbs.

Loader height fully raised at top of bucket is 12 feet, 8 1/2 inches.

Three point hithc will lift a max around 2600 lbs.

Loader and three-point use two different oil reservoirs. Both call for universal tractor fluid (combo trans and hydraulic).

sorry for asking a few what might be dumb questions but i plan on changing all the fluids on this machine due to sitting for awhile.

for the oil change the filter looks different than most todays filters.is there a filter inside what appears to be a metal filter housing?and how many quarts?

what is the best way to remove all the hydraulic fluid and replace with new both loader and pto.and do i need to bleed the system?

also when i brought the tractor home there was nothing in the gas tank.does it need to be cleaned before running new gas through the system.i was told to use lead fuel only.is this also true?

what about rear end oil?how to check or replace if needed.

once again i apologize for these questions.i will be ordering a manual asap.

any tips and pointers to get all the fluids that can possibly be changed and the systems clean will be much appreciated.

thanks in advance!!
