330 Utility Clutch t/a adjustment

I have a IT manual and I adjusted the clutch and T/A per the manual. I started it up and tested it and nothing changed....it was not far out of adjustment. The problem is that when I put it in a forward gear it will act just like normal in high and will not change when put in low, but if I pull the T/A lever further back it will make a clicking sound. Then when I go to stop facing up hill, it will not roll backwards and its hard to take it out of gear. It does the same thing in reverse, but just in the opposite direction. I know it sat outside for about a half a year without moving/running. I had to clean the brakes to get it to move. If anyone knows what the clutch and T/A are doing, it would be greatly appreatiated to let me in on the secret....haha. Thanks.

Your ta 7 inch dry clutch fingers are worn so bad in their pivot pins it cannot release fully and the release bearing is contacting the pressure plate. My take. You might be able to adjust the fingers themself individually.

There is (at least on my 460U) a plate on top of the TA housing that you can take off that exposes the clutch -- you can take it from there. Depends on how nimble your fingers are.

No, you don't have to split the tractor, however, that is only a get by type of repair as if that is the problem you really need to replace or rebuild the clutch which does require a split. Have done it a few times though , through the top cover, trick is to get them all even. Lots of things are possible but not necessarilly the correct way of doing repairs.

The tractor Vet has also recommended that all worn pivots and clevises on the linkage be either rebushed/pinned, or accounted for in the adjustment process. Jim
