most just use whatever they put in the engine they are servicing.

I can tell you from experience, don't go less than 30wt. I used 10w30 in my SH and had oil dripping from the jar type air cleaner. It dosen't seem possible but it happened. I switched to 30 wt and it stopped.

Now that you mention it. My SC started smoking a little recently. I think I may have put a mulit in the air cleaner. If the oil is to light can it be drawn all the way to the Carb?
I"ll have to change it an see if it makes a difference.
