int.2504 shift pattern?

hello, I test drove a 2504 and it has a forward/reverse lever.Can you tell me if there should be a gear all the way left and forward?When i put the shift lever in this position it does not go forward or reverse. the woman did not know much about her tractor and I have never driven one. Thanks

On a regular tractor that would be reverse... But if it has a reverser, they may have omitted it. There really is no need for another reverse gear and it would safe money to leave the gear out completely. That's my guess.

My 2500 is the same way if you have a shuttle shifter you don"t need reverse on trans.

I have a 504U and had a 460U both with the reverser and both just like yours.

Thanks Gentlemen! I bought the tractor today,Its a little rough but with some tlc its gonna be a beauty(i hope)
