Farmall A rear weights

Anyone know what size bolts (length and diameter) would be used to hold the the rear weights on a Farmall "A"? I'm assuming they're carriage bolts because of the square holes in the wheels. Thanks for any help.

I had to make the carriage bolts longer by welding an extension on them since I couldn't find bolts long enough. This was back in 1975 & 1976. I can't remember the size, but they were probably 5/8 or 3/4 bolts. Do you have one of the old bolts? Hal
PS: I primed painted the new bolts.

No, I don't have any of the bolts. Restored my "A" a few years ago, painted the weights, and put them back in a corner. Figured it's time I should do something with them. Hoping someone had a parts list or something.

I have some "B" weights I'm going to put on my 240U... I rigged up some 5/8" plated all thread, nut and lock washer on inside, nut on outside of the wheel (weight is recessed) and will put a lock washer and nut on the outside. Have got a "test" bolt made a little long and will cut the rest to length after I see exactly how long they need to be. Just has not been high on the priority list yet. I could not find long enough carriage bolts either.

Good dimensions there couv. bigr, the diff between right and left is the type wheel. The shorter bolt is for the pressed steel wheel that was commonly used on the left side, the longer one for the cast wheel on the right. If you've got cast on both sides, you'll want the longer bolts all the way around.
