Super C leaking Hydraulic fluid into motor

I got the pump apart and everything looks good No obvious groove in the pump shaft, no cut orings etc. All other parts look good. This pump was/is working good and very strong. The pump will lift a 7' fast hitch disc off of the ground with little effort. The question is: Can I get by with just replacing the shaft seal? The shaft has no perceptible groove or reduction in diameter. I will get it mic'ed and see what that tells me.

Probably. Polish it roundy round, not in and out, with 600 grit paper. Then put a smear of grease on the back side of the seal to pre lube it. Usually a good fix. Jim

If item No11 doesn't have a groove and isn't worn
you probably just need a new seal. Hal

Yipper the new seal should solve the ptoblem. Just make sure the washer gets bent so the gear cant come loose which happens all too much of the time.
