Tires Cracking

I had new Titan 11.2X36 tires put on my Farmall Super C. The tires are developing some cracks in the middle of the tread. What would cause these small cracks? I had new Good Years put on my Farmall M eight years ago and those tires haven"t developed the cracks like the Titans. I could understand the cracks if the tires were several years old or if the tractor set outside which it doesn"t.

Why not go to the dealer where you bought them the opinions here wont get them replaced. If you dont get any answers from the dealer go to TITAN and make lots of noise. It will be some fun to go like to a fair where they sell them and talk loud so others will hear about your problem.

It's called weather checking and is caused by time and exposure to UV rays. Cheaper tires exhibit it sooner than more expensive tires as a general rule because more expensive tires tend to be made with better materials and more UV resistant chemicals.

There was a reason why the titan tires cost less than goodyears, after all.

Weather checking in and of itself is not a big deal. The tires just look like kah-kah, and will only get worse as the years pass.

Your "new" tires could in fact be several years old. They could have been sitting in a warehouse for a very long time before they got sold.

You'll need to research how to read date codes.

I'll have to go with Gene on this one. If they weren't outside then exposure and UV rays really are not the issue. I suspect you paid for new tires not for NOS so date codes would not interest me either...see if the dealer or Titan will stand behind them.
