1939 H wheel weights

Hello all,

Just brought home a 1939 H. The back wheels appear they were steel wheels originally and they cut the outer metal ring and welded a rubber tire rim. Different looking for sure. Anyway, it has cement weights bolted on the outer sides. They look factory made and fit the tractor well. Does anybody know if this was an option or if this was cobbled together after the fact? Thanks

Contrary to popular belief, farmers can and do produce quality custom accessories and repairs that look very professional and "factory."

Of course, there is always the possibility that a company made concrete wheel weights, possibly a local concrete "foundry" that also made things like silo staves and other cast concrete parts.

Can and do, but generally the odds are against it.
