I don't post here much, but I thought the group would find this interesting. I have just purchased a Super A-1 (A-One). It appears to be the "real deal." Serial number is around 600 tractors from the very end. Casting codes are all correct for a mid-to-late '54. Engine has a little knock and the trans. is noisy but it's all there. I am really excited. Owning one was sort of on my "bucket list," and this one just fell in my lap.
BTW I know of at least two more, used primarily as garden tractors.
Anyone else have a Super A-1? I know there are a few in the hands of collectors. Would be really interested to know how many more are out there and still working or in the hands of collectors.
I feel very fortunate to now own a '48 Super A, my grandfather's tractor, which was at the beginning of production, and now this one which was at the end.
