Hidden PTO

Comming up for auction is a International 2424 (industrial??) it is in great shape. It has the 3 Point hitch. There is a cover where the PTO should be comming out of the back, It is a triangle cover with 3 bolts holding it in. Is there some (kit ??), some way to hooking up the PTO on this tractor????? Thanks
 
I believe you will need to find a (same series) tractor in a salvage yard to retrieve all the needed parts. There is no Kit. The tractor should be able to be retrofitted, but the parts might include some internal transmission parts to power the PTO. Jim
 
Do not abandon the project until you determine it needs internal parts. Use the parts diagram of a conventional tractor to assess the situation. It could be as simple as removing the plate, and sliding the PTO into the hole with shaft engaging the appropriate splines. The handle and latches would be needed to controll it, but I would not give up until satisfied of the difficulty. Jim
 
Thanks, I plan on buying the tractor. It is sooo nice I can not let it go. I can seel it for a little profit if I can not get the PTO to go. I live in farm land in MI.
