I have a 1951 super C with out a fast hitch, I was wondering if a international 2x14 fast hitch plow would be the one that I would need and do I need anything else to hook it up to my tractor?any replies would be greatly appericated.

Well how are you going to hook up a fast hitch plow when your tractor doesnt have a fast hitch. You will need to buy a fast hitch for your tractor first. Erik..

They made a mounted plow for your tractor, but don t buy a fast hitch plow because it will not work without a 500.00 hitch.(Neighbor's got one rusting away in the weeds and won t sell)

Thank you for the reply. I may want to put a fast hitch on it and don't know how hard it would be to do so.

There was a mounted plow made for the C and SC without the fast hitch... don't know the model number. A mounted plow pulls easier than a pull type due to the weight transfer of a mounted plow to the tractor. Dad had both a Fast Hitch and a C mounted plow at different times, and other than being more of a PITA to mount, he said the C plow worked better. I don't know from personal experience as the Fast-Hitch plow is the only one I ever used. The C mounted plow uses the "Touch Control" lift arms to raise and lower it. If you add the Fast Hitch, you also need the auxillary hydraulics valve in addition to the actual F-H parts.

Thanks for the reply, would you happened to know how hard it would be to add a Fh to this tractor?

Watch your local paper for farm implement auctions. A lot of farmers have switched to notill and chisel plows. Place a want ad for a moldboard trailer type plow. Hal

I really like the fast hitch on my 1953 Super C and have several FH implements for it. Just a word of caution if you intend to purchase a fast hitch - just make sure you get EVERYTHING so you will need to get some education on what EVERYTHING includes. Bits and pieces of a fast hitch are difficult to purchase individually and become very costly for the pieces you find to be missing. The seat base is even different on a FH tractor for one. The hydraulic lines between the pump and touch control unit are different as well due to the required remote valve. These are just a couple of items to let you know they are widespread. Before purchasing a fast hitch I would highly recommend obtaining a Super C TC-44B Parts Catalog and the operator's manual supplement as the regular operators manual doesn't include the FH. The number on my supplement is 1 004 220 R4. Hope this helps, Hal.

If you intend to go that way, your best bet would be to find a salvaged SC with a Fast Hitch (I believe a 200 may be the same, but not the 230 or 240). There are 18 parts assemblies alone in the mechanical drawbar, draft link and yoke assy, 24 in the hydraulic cylinder, bellcrank, rockerarm and rockshaft and 24 in the check valve and connections. Then there are another 23 assemblies or individual parts you need for the remote hydraulic valve system.
If you intend to use the tractor for several F-H implements, it may be worth the trouble, otherwise I'd say stick with either a pull plow (second choice) or a mounted plow for a C or SC without F-H (first choice).

I use these. They are hard to find with all the correct parts but are much cheaper than a fast hitch.

Here's the one I'm talking about for a non-F-H C or SC... will need to copy and paste, don't know why it doesn't come up as a "link".

this plow is a model C199, I have one also and it does a really nice job of plowing and can get into tight corners when you need to

I decided it wasn't practical to add a fast hitch so I sold the one with out and bought one with. Fasthitch is so much easier and nicer than 3 point. I ended up with a C20 plow and in my soil I needed 3 sets of rear wheel weights and fluid in the tires to break sod in a pasture that no one could ever remember being tilled. Once tilled I took 2 sets of weights off. I have since collected the 2 point disc, middle busters, blade. I have a mounted cultivator, planter, and fertilizer side dressers. The mounted rear cultivator is a real PIA and I will probably look for a 2 point. I should have kept my non FH SC to use as a planter/cultivator tractor so I don't have to mount and unmount implements.
The older I get the harder it gets!

In addition to the two-way plow pictured above, International made a two-bottom ( two 12s) that mounted up under the belly of the tractor. You could leave the framing on the tractor & dismount & mount the plow in minutes.

I have the plow pictured and it works well. You also need the lifting attachment that goes on the rear axle (uses the same brackets as the sickle bar mower) and connects to one of the lift-all control arms with a steel rod. It is also a useful lift and I leave mine on most of the year.
