how much do yall think a 1941 farmall h with new starter, new manifold, new carb, new starter switch, new paint, new decals, new generator, good hydraulics, good tires, new lights, and runs good would go for?

Where are you located? In CT, one in that kind of shape could approach the SC prices. Occasionally you can find better deals.

Sounds like someone merely replaced the parts it needed and nothing else, and painted it. Painted to sell does not work with me. $1500 max.

The new parts are worth approximately $700, and the H without those new parts might be worth $700, so add it all up and you"ve $1,400.

If the real question here is "Did I do OK?" then the answer is yes, you did just fine. If the question is "Can I make a buck here?", the shoer answer would be "perhaps".

Nothing funny about it, some of my fellow Carolinians think that all old tractors are worth alot more than they really are. I guess we can thank the Deere collectors for that, since I have personally heard one guy tell another that his 300D was worth $15000 since he saw a restored JD R sell for that much. It happens all over around here. That and another problem is the hot rodders around here, not that I have anything against them, but their hobby has gotten so high they buy up all the tracotrs and expect them to be worth what their hot rods were. Its a mad house around this area when it comes to old tractors.

I agree with you, John; it really does seem like old tractors are higher in North and South Carolina than in many other parts of the country.
