Charging question

My M has been converted to a 12 volt alternator for a lot of years. Only problem I ever had was a battery getting old and needing changing. I'm having problems now with a new battery and I need to know if the system is charging correctly. I'm getting 14-15 volts at the battery when the tractor is running. Is this correct or should I see more than that.I had issues starting last year and changed out some wiring that was bad thinking I had a short. Also turned out the old battery had a bad cell when I traded it in for the new one. I want to know if I have a charging issue before doing more trouble shooting.

Nope,

She ought to be runnin' right about 14.5 volts if everything is correct with the charging side of things.

Take off one of the battery terminals. (either)
Use a small test light, or parking light with two leads. Place its leads between the post and the terminal you took off of it. if it lights, there is a current draw. If it is a one wire system, it might be the real issue. Con vert it to a three wire, or put a 50 amp toggle in the alternator wire to disconnect it when not running the tractor. Jim
