Restoring ammeter/light switch to original

I just purchased a "51 M. The light switch box has had the light switch removed (no lights on the tractor)and toggle switch for the ignition and a starter button installed. I wouold like to convert the tractor back to it"s original configuration with the light switch knob and pull out type ignition switch. It has been converted to 12 volts already (not by me.
Any help would be appreciated.

The included diagrams will do most of it, the light switch is shown in Parts and pieces under (I think) Farmall M light switch. Be sure to get a ignition switch that is for a mag if it has a mag, and a distributor if so equipped. Jim

Thank you for your reply. I will have to look at the tractor this weekend - it is about 200 miles away from where I normally live.

It is a 12 volt negative ground and I am pretty sure (showing some ignorance here) that is a distributor system. I will check the number of connections on the generator and VR too.

One question - why is the push/pull ignition switch different for a magneto vs. a distributor?

A mag is "on" until it is grounded. The mag switch grounds the mag so you can shut off the engine.

Perhaps I should have said it "ungrounds" it when you pull it out.
