High idleing H

I took it out discing this afternoon and it ran great. But when I finished, It wouldnt idle down. Whaddia think is her problem?

did you try ajusting the idle screw? im not and expert and am not sure what would make it change though. something stuck mabey? im sure the experts will be here soon

there is an idle stop screw on the top of the carb right next to the governor tube. Turn that screw out to let it idle lower.

If Andrew's suggestion is not working, I would worry about a loose throttle plate in the carb. It can cause erratic idle, if the screws come out entirely, they can be sucked into the cylinders and cause real problems. Before removing the carb to check it, be sure the linkage to the governor is good and free. Jim

I backed the screw underneith the gov shaft tube a full circle. No change. Whats the chance ive got weak springs in the gov flyball system
