TA delete MTA

found a MTA without a TA is this thing very rare . It blows water out the radiator but looks good dont know what its worth . I know this is a long shot with no pictures but are they colectable .

SM-TA delete isn't rare but thet're not commoin either. I've seen 2 or 3 over the years, seem to be more prevalent the last 2-3 years. Most were sold in the south. This called a SM-TA and the decal is the same as a SM-TA with the TA except it doesn't have the "flag" at the bottom, just a round circle like he other letter series.

I would pay less for one. I was sort of looking for a 300, and Mike at Steel Wheel Ranch has one. No TA and has transmission driven PTO. So, those tractors are out there.

I would pay less for one too. If you have no need for the extra gears it wouldn't be that big a deal. I use the TA on mine plowing and sure made life easier. Without it, there are many times you would have had to stop and downshift to get through a patch of hard ground, and then shift and start again, PITA. Or lift the plow, which wouldn't do the job you wanted to have done. With the TA, ya just pull the handle, make the 20' of hard ground, then kick it forward again. Real handy feature.

MTA's aren't so rare that I would get one that didn't have the things on it I wanted. I looked for one for two years before I found the one I bought. And they ARE tough to come by here on the west coast. The live PTO is nice, but otherwise you may as well just have a SM.

I bought a mta delete,serial tag had the P suffix. I bought into the rare theory. Well after several years of looking at it and thinking I had a fake smta, after all the work and expense of restoring it and having to explain to poeple at shows way it had no ta and seeing their expressions,I knew what they were thinking,"Any Idiot can remove the ta instead of repairing it and call it a rare delete." So I installed a ta, best thing I did to that tractor it works perfect and even easier in parades to adjust speed to flow. IMHO I would pay much less for ta delete because there will always be something missing on that tractor.Also the tractor gets much more respect With a T A at the shows. Tony

what was the point of getting a super M-TA with out the TA? did the farmers just want the independent PTO? just wondering
