W9 rear main seal

Has anyone ever replaced the rear main seal on a W9. I checked the ITC book and I could not tell if they meant you could do it without splitting the tractor or not. I saw where someone had done this on a W6 from the top after removing the clutch. Any help would be appricated.

I have to do the rear main seal in a ud9 also anyone know of where they sell them have not even started to take it apart just trying to get all my parts in order thanks

According to the IT book, you have to remove the fuel tank to get to to the clutch cover, unbolt the clutch shaft, and pull the engine to get to the seal. This is not the news I was hoping for as well.
