Farmall H starter switch

I have just bought a Farmall H which I am in the process of restoring. Can anybody possibly support with photo's showing the position of the starter switch, routing of the battery/ starter cables and the battery box?- would much appreciate it!

the 2 places I know of are a mounting block on the left side of the steering post about 2/3 of the way up OR in the base of the rear gas tank mount. This would be the "PUSH" type starter button.

I have nothing so I am uncertain what should be there? Was there a specific release which year/ option would have pull/push?

The ON/OFF switch can be located in a couple of places. It can be on the arm for the Lift All hydraulic control rod, or there can be a steel plate mounted on the steering post. My previous post was for the starter button. they are 2 different things.

I will try to find a picture to post of the layout of the steering post.

Some had switch on left of post about 2/3 way up but had forgotten some had foot switch activator at bottom of post.

My dad had a 47 H with the button on the left side of the steering post. I have a 41 H that had it at the bottom of the post. I don't remember if the 47 post had the hole at the bottom. If yours does NOT have a hole in the middle or so of the post, it should have one at the bottom. If it has both all bets are off. I'm not an total originality nut as far as relatively minor details, and prefer the button on the post. Foot slips off too easily at the bottom. As to the wiring, you can get a lot of that type of questions answered with an operators manual-www.binder nnalert.

Here's the starter switch location on my 1953 H. On my 1947 M the switch is mounted on the lower fuel tank support and a rod goes through the steering support which you push with your foot. Another version has a lever also pressed with your foot.

H's usually have a starter button mounted to the left of the steering post as pictured, and Ms have it mounted down lower on the gas tank mount. My M has a lever that you push with your foot to engage the button, but it never really pushes the button straight, often causing failure to the button, which is usually a headache having to replace all the time. I think next time it breaks, I'm going to switch to a button style on the steeing post, like the H's have.

This is how it is on my M.
