IH Refrigiator

I think so as I know several IH collectors with them. There are also folks in our state IHC chapter that make them the focus of their collection. I would certainly like to have one in my tractor building but haven't ever been able to locate one close by. Are you selling or wanting to purchase one? I recently moved into a mobile home that has one in the kitchen. It works great. My only thing is I could use some freezer space. Since I turned 60 I respect old things. I never knew there was such a thing until I moved here. Back in MD I know some car and tractor collectors that would love to have it. But the distance makes it difficult. My thought is maybe selling to someone that appreciates what it is and I buy something with a little more freezer space. I live in Bedford VA. My parents bought a new one when they were married in 1953.The thing raised 4 kids through several moves,one across state lines.Finaly wound up in my sisters garage.she GAVE IT AWAY! when she got tired of it.Never needed anything,probably still running.Susan's parents bought a new IH refrigerator in the late '30s,that one is still running!
 
I recently found one at a recycle store.Thought it would fit in with my farmalls.This one obviosly had a rough life as it needs a door handle but it still works.It seems that long life expectency was a bonus feature.
 
My Gramps got a couple big IH chest freezers in the 50's, probably 6' long, when he owned the IH dealership. We used to go to a lot of turkey raffles when I was a kid, Gramps, my uncle, and I came home with 12 turkeys one night from Cohocton VFD raffle (25 cent tickets LOL) and Grams didn't bat an eye, loaded 'em up, and they all kept just fine, some didn't get used for a couple years, just hard as bowling balls in there
