Farmall H brake linings

How thick are new brake band linings? My "new" H will not hold itself on a slight grade. I removed the housings and have around 1/8 inch lining left. Are these worn out or do I have an adjustment/brake drum wear issue?

I'd say you have an adjustment issue.

How are the splines on the brake shafts? I have seen them chipped, gouged and dug up so bad that no amount of pad or adjustment can help...thesimply cannot slide on the shaft when this happens.
