400 hydraulic question

My 400 came with a hole rusted in the 3rd remote steel lines that go to the rear remote outlets by the seat. The previous owner removed the lines at the valve body under the hood behind the dash. My question is can I use the other two remotes without spraying oil everywhere until I get this line fixed and reinstalled? Thanks!

Did he leave the holes open or put a plug in the valve where the lines were attached. Plug them up.

Theoretically you should be fine. But, you should either get new lines or get a plate to cover the openings ASAP.

I has the exact thing on my 400. Dirt will ruin your hyd system close "em up quick. I used a wire feed welder and a lot of carefull patience and closed the hole. Make sure you flush out the lines after you get it fixed before reinstalling.

our 400 has threaded pressure ports in the valve body in addition to the oring bosses. theoretically you could thread a metal plug in there temporarily or use swivels and hoses to feed the rear remote. Just the right size and length of hoses and fittings and it would look almost factory.

I think it is 1/2 npt.
I am prepared for when our steel lines blow.
