Farmall M belly mower

Has anyone seen it done? Internet searches are pretty tough for the letter series and I haven't been able to find any. I would think the M is way too high for a belly mower. But has it been done?

or maybe for an H? or Am I better off just finding a pull type brush hog?

I'm sure you can install a mower without alot work,I'l bet you can make it fit.An M is kinda a little overkill.....You'll NEVER run out of power!

I bought a Woods 6' deck with the brackets, pulleys, and cylinder to put it on an M or an H at an auction about 10 years ago. I'm considering putting it on my M just to see how it mows and for oddity's sake.

A neighbor had one on an H years back and it did a great job mowing.

(quoted from post at 01:22:41 05/14/10) I have a woods 306 under my H cut about 6 acres works great. dan

I also have an H with the 306 Woods. It is probably the best AND least expensive riding lawn mower I have ever owned, and undoubtedly the least expensive to operate and maintain.

I stopped by a guy"s house who had a Super M outside, to talk tractors, since I have a Super M too. He had a belly mower hooked up to it, and said it was a great setup. I can"t remember the exact model number of the woods mower he had on it, maybe a 59. Steve

A well tuned M has a lot of guts for a belly mower. In my yard an M with belly mower would be, "a device used to find old trenches".

That would seem like a pretty easy installation even if you have to cut and weld up the brackets. Lots of room under there, not like squeezing the deck under a lawn tractor.

I have a Farmall H with a 6' arts way belly mower on. I love it. The only draw back is if it's a little wet it will leave tracks so then I use a cub to mow up around the house

Woods L306, and Arts Way 6' and 7'(?) mowers are the options I've come across in my travels.

Normally they'd go on an H, but I don't see why an M wouldn't work.

The drive pulley on the PTO is HUGE, like 18" or 21" in diameter or something like that.

With a deck that wide, you need a lot of wide-open smooth lawn to mow.

I have a Woods belly mower on my Farmall H. Never seen an M with one, but I don't see why it can't be done for a huge yard. My H is about perfect for cutting our trails for our horse riders. I just wish I could whip it around trees and turns as easy as the neighbors C.

Well with the narrow front end these things turn practically as good as a zero turn mower.

I know, my H is a narrow front. It is just a night and day difference from the neighbors C that I've used.

It would just be interesting, nowadays a decent lawnmower runs 3k. You could get an M or H with a belly mower for 1500-2k...a whole world of difference
