H/M Carbs

I keep seeing on the pulling board that SH and M carbs are the same? Doesn't sound right.

And then I see guys putting M carbs on H's. How do you make it fit?

the super h carburetor has the same outside body as an m carburetor, but the venturi in the super h is 23/32" and the m is 27/32". and the fuel discharge tube and the main jet size would be different also.

The choke rod is on the block side on the Super H and on the outside on the M, The aftermarket kits are the same.

The M carburetor will fit the H ONLY if you first install a manifold from a Super H through 350. A new replacement manifold will fit the H through 350, and has slotted mounting holes to accomodate either the H carburetor OR the M carburetor.

Installing an M carburetor on an H will NOT result in more power unless you have first made some serious modifications to the engine.
