Super MD vs. MD

What were the main differences between the Super MD
and the MD? I need parts for Super MD and found an
MD for sale.

The super MD motor was bored out which increased the compression over the MD and increased the power by 30 percent. Supers have live hyd and they changed the brakes from the band style to the disk style. Some of the big differences.

The Super MD has the later style block that came with 4" bore cylinder sleeves increasing the cu. piston displacement of the engine to 264 inches vs. the 248 of the MD.. Other tuning tricks and slightly higher compression raised the PTO power from about 36 to 48 PTO horses and the drawbar power to about 44. The field speeds (2nd, 3rd, and 4th) were increased and the stage II versions had the live hydraulics available. Super versions also had the so-called better disc brakes (better maybe if kept cleaned up inside and free of rust and crud, otherwise unreliable and dangerous in that they can either fail or lock up). The "U" drawbar was made of heavier material as was the swinging drawbar and it had a roller on the support strap. As I recall these are the main differences.
