Farmall Amp Gage production differences

After restoring my '49 H I haven't been pleased with the reproduction amp gage I installed. It's not only completely different from what was on the tractor originally, but it is inaccurate and the needle shakes back and forth at high rpms and anytime the tractor is moving.

The gage that was original to the tractor is the odd one of the three pictures. It looks to me the part number is 42333-DA. This gage had a brass trim ring around the glass. I was able to remove this carefully and have hopes of having a new gage face reproduced. The needle is also a different shape. I'd really like to go back to this gage because it was extremely accurate and the needle didn't vibrate much at all while running.

Does anyone know of some place that can reproduce just the gage face or possibly just a vinyl overlay?

The gauge is shaking because there's something wrong with your charging system. Probably an iffy ground in one or more places because it's trying to push electricity through fresh paint.

Some gauges are twitchy due to less dampening (thick polymer)used in manufacturing. If the old gauge still works smoothly, I would suspect that issue. OEM, or Steel Wheel Ranch might be able to find a good (or repo) arrow pointer meter. (I like them when on the correct tractor, I think they are better looking. Jim
