Is there a condenser on the Farmall a? If so where is it located? My tractor is not getting a spark. Changed the plugs and still no spark. Thanks for any and all information.

Mag or distributor?? 6 or 12 volts. But yes it has a condenser and it is inside the mag or distributor. Not very likely to be your problem you probably need to clean or replace your point which is the most common reason for not having spark

Look under the distributor cap, under the bakelite plate where the points are. Inspect the points. You may need to file or replace.

Yep it has one regardless if a Mag or Distributor. Its under the cap and dust cover if its a distributor. They can go bad but more often then not its the points that are burned up or pitted or carboned up which causes her not to fire. You may try to clean and dress then re gap them but if they are very bad youre better off with a new set. If its a Distributor Ignition, see my Troubleshooting Procedure below.

Agree with the rest, probably points. Could be the coil, but w/o anymore info, it is a complete guess. If the spark plug has no spark, it is usually something up stream. Do you voltage going to the points as the engine turns over?

Just to fill in the gap if it is a magneto. Teh mag needs to be removed to replace the condenser on a mag.

You can see it if you remove the top cap on the mag. And the ground wire )or, on the early ones) the grounsing mech) is held down onto the threaded end of the termial on the condenser. Unfortunately, it does't come out in that direction. You have to pull the mag off the tractor, remove the cover on the back/motor side, and pull it out that way, after loosening the simple tension clamp, which is accessible with the top cap off.

If you have a magneto, I'd sure try a set of good cleanl, properly adjusted points before pulling the mag to change the condenser.

Thanks for all the input. I have new plugs, points, and cap. I also changed the condenser. There is a spark from magneto wire to ground. No spark from plugs to ground though. Sorry about not posting earlier, I just had to walk away from it for awhile before I beat it too death!
