I have a friend that just bought a late model 140, for almost nothing, had been sitting for a while. cleaned carb, fresh gas ,fired up. It is leaking water from the side of the clutch housing as it runs. Is there a freeze plug on back of engine that you can't see or did it freeze and crack on back of engine????

I dont think there is a frost plug on the back of the engine. And usally if it freezes its on the side of the engine down by the carb. Is there not antifreeze in the rad ? Was it sitting out side and there is water in the oil or the breather. I dont know im just guessing with out seeing the tractor.

There are 2 plugs back there. One covers the end of the camshaft & the other the water jacket. When you get it split you will know which is which.

thanks for the info everyone. I really don"t know any history on the tractor other than the husband died years ago and it had been sitting under a shed.It does not have a pto that"s the only bad thing that I can see wrong other than the water leak. Thanks for the help.
