Poor running 340 utility

I have a 340 utility that spits and sputters when it gets warm or under a load. i can idle it down and it will run smooth for a while then eventily die. But it always starts right back up and runs for while again. I have replaced condenser, pionts, cap, rotor. i have flushd fuel tank out, torn carb apart and cleaned 3 different times. I think its a fuel/intake problem cause when it starts to act up i can pull the choke out and feather it through it. Im running out of ideas. this tractor has always been a good running tractor

sure sounds like the fuel isn't getting there. have you checked the governor? might need to be tightened up.

Fuel problems will often imitate ignition problems, and ignition problems will quite often mimic fuel problems. I think I would replace the ignition coil, and if that doesn't solve the problem, you need to remove the valve cover and check the clearance gap on the valves. You might also have a bad intake gasket that allows a vacuum leak only when the engine is warm.

by pulling the choke to keep it from stalling you are richining the air/fuel mixture which tells me that you might have a lean miss under load which in other words is a lean air fuel mixture or maybe a vacuum leak. grab a can of carb cleaner and lightly spray it around you intake mani while idling and listen (dont blow yourself up)for any increase in RPM when you hit any particular area. if you spray a spot and the rpm suddenly picks up you found a vavuum leak. if it's not that try adjusting your carm to richin the mix.
