H-M rear wheels

I have a 49 M with a cutoff wheel on the right side and standard wheel and rim on left side. I have some wheels and rims from H's and would like to try using one of them on the M. What will I have to do to make a H wheel fit the larger M axel?

I do not believe a H wheel will work on a M due to the difference in axle diameter.

The M axle is much larger diameter, so the H wheel will not fit outright.

Unless you have some pretty hefty machining equipment in your shop, there isn't anything (financially feasible) you can do to make the H wheels fit.

M wheels should be available at any tractor salvage yard. The M is one of the most common tractors and the wheel is one of the last things to get sold off a parts tractor.

The rims will interchange, but the M usually has wider rims than an H. The cast centers will NOT interchange.

You could have the axle turned down to accept the smaller H wheel but I doubt you want to do that. Your best shot would be to pick up an M wheel. I'd trade with you even stephen if you were here. Your rim and tire will interchange OK
