i found a farmall m parts tractor with live hydro, the tractor has a locked rear and bad motor so i am using it for parts to finish my md. was wondering if i could put the hydro off the m onto the md. the m has a distributer and the md has a mag is this swap possible???
 
Not sure but I don't think it will work. I think the hyd pump on the MD turns backwords from the M., Someone else will know. Bernie Steffen

Bernie is correct, the hydraulic pump on an MD turns in the opposite direction as one on an M. The pumps are NOT the same.
 
it will not work the live pumps for the gas and diesel are different. As for the distributor you would have to change the advance springs and the maybe the weights as well, but your better off finding one off a gas.
