Super M stage 1 vs. stage 2

There is probably more value in a Stage 2 vs Stage 1 Super H, as the high dollar Super M is the Super MTA, with no equivalent in the factory Super H. However, I would probably pay $500 or so more for an unrestored Stage 2 Super M, vs a Stage 1. Difference in the two Super H's may be more like $1000. This assumes good condition, straight sheet metal, no missing parts, and good mechanical condition. If a Stage 1 Super M sells for 1500-$2000, a Stage 2 would sell for 2000-$2500. Equivalent Stage 1 Super H, $1500-$2000 vs $2500-$3000 Stage 2 Super H. Only my opinion, I have not seen any sell lately.

CKNS my dilema is the tractors I'm looking at: stage 1 has excellent tires..The stage 2 has very poor tires....... both are in good shape..

Depends on what your goal is. I would call a Stage 2 a "desirable" collector tractor. For use, the ONLY advantage is live hydraulics. Tires are about $1000 or more. You will not immediately get your money back. If you sell it 5-10 years from now, you probably will. But, tractors really are not "investments", for me they are just a hobby.

Buy them both switch the tires and resell the one you do not want. Should be able to do that for less than new rubber cost.
