Freeze/Expansion Plug

I diagonsed by Super A as having a bad expansion/freeze plug and took it apart today. The plug was bad; however, there was another plug also behind the flywheel and, due to the condition of the bad plug, decided to replace both. I removed the second plug and found it does not lead into the water jacket but covers, what appears to be, the end of a shaft. Any information on this plug and can I replace it like the other plug--it is a different size.

that one cover the cam shaft and you can replace it make sure its is in stright as you well dump all you engine oil if it leaks
