I have for sale a few 1 point hitch implements and don't know what this one is called. What was it used for? Thanks, Dan

This is a very small field harrow. One way to it would be to kill weeds in a garden before planting.

Several weeks before planting go over the garden and kill the thousands of weed seeds that have germinated making sure not to go too deep. Let more seeds germinate and then do it again. Every time it is used it would kill thousands of weed seeds in the top two or three inches of soil.

If you do this every year and keep the edges of the garden mowed so you don't get a lot of new weed seeds into your garden you can reduce the weeds in your garden over time to the point where you have very few weeds.

I would call it a spring tooth harrow or light chisle harrow. Depends on what part of country you are in as to what it is called locally.

Probably different things in different parts of the country... around here it's a "field cultivator"... not heavy enough shanks for a chisel and anything with a single FH point could not pull that many shanks of a chisel. Shanks could even be removed or positioned for a row crop cultivator if needed. I had one similar in a M-F 3 point at one time... guy I sold it to set it up for row crop. I used it to till a big garden.

Its a fast hitch toolbar, equipped with coil spring shanks and points.
You bought the toolbar and then you added what you needed. They had adjustable end wheels for it, planter units, coil-spring shanks, stiff shanks, and bedder discs to chose from.

My dad called that a spring harrow and he called the points bull tongues. He ran a set of them right ahead of his cultivators to loosen the soil so he could cultivate and hill the beans in one shot. Ron
