I have seen a one bottom Cub plow for sale on Craigslist and was wondering if it would work on my A?

Yes as long as you have just a "A" and not Super A that might have a fast hitch.
If it is a standard hitch plow and a standard hitch tractor it will work fine.

No. It will not. The A doesn't have the proper fittings or controls for that type plow. The plow is too small for the tractor.

It is just an "A".....the pic of the plow on craigslist looks like the type to mount under the tractor.........not those arrow pointed looking things if thats what a fast hook up is
The biggest problem with mounting it on an A is that you probably don't have any lift mechanisms whatsoever on the tractor.
Mounting the plow itself is pretty simple, as it is only two bolts into the drawbar. However, with no way to lift the plow out of the ground or control how deep it plows, it will be worse than useless.

The beam is too short to fit the A. You will need the mount stuff for the A Lifting lever and the depth lever so no it will not work without a bunch of stuff forgot the rear rockshaft that goes between the fenders for the A. You need one for the A Best advice is get the owners manual for the plow on the A so when you find one you get all the parts. These things happen all the time person gets an attachment for his tractor that lacks some of the mounting parts Keep looking on the adds as they do show up as there were two plows for the A in the last few days. I do have some of the mounting stuff left over from a pile i bought rockshaft assy,lift lever, depth lever

By the way the plow for the A comes in 12,14 and 16 in bottoms with guage wheels rolling cutters and joiners even had rubber tires avail on the guage wheels. ITalso is avail hand lift or exhaust lift. I have had both but sold them with the tractors. Now i have a B-187 exhaust lift 14in bottoms with guage wheels and rolling cutters. It is a two way with 14in bottome. I sold a complete set-up for exhaust lift for same type plow on the A Guy found one minus thelift system.

Well then how does the orignal plow from my 54 cub work on my friends 41 "A".
His 41 has manual lift controls . We are in the process of maybe installing a exhaust lift system..
The plow from my cub works just fine on the "A". I do happen by chance to have the orignal bill of sale for the 54 and everything that came with it.
Now to be honest i have always thought it to be to big for the cub ! Maybe it is a plow for a "A" the dealer sent out with it !!!!
I also have a 55 cub with a fast hitch and that plow is smaller.
Well Thunderbird i hope i havn"t sent you down the wrong road , now you have me wondering if this is a cub or a A plow .
Gene if we don"t use the exhaust lift might you be intrested , we have one complete working system and several spare cylinders and valves .

Something is messed up as the Cub plow has a shorter beam. You could make it work on the A if you had all the rest of the mount stuff Cub used a chain to lift and the A used the rockshaft with some linkage. I have the leveling part of the rockshaft but no linkage to the beam. Yes i mite be interested in some stuff with the exhaust lift but you should make it work on the A just for fun.The lift lever that mounts on the drivers platform makes it hard to het on and off. I built some steos tha help as the same type lever i used for thw rear tooling on the cultivator.
