have trouble getting out of fifth gear and first the only way to get it out is bump the cluthe two or three times i let a so called freind use it and this is the way it came back also i just rebuilt clutches and the t/a unit

Get an owner's manual, or an I&T Service Manual, and follow the instructions TO THE LETTER.

The problem is very likely that the "direct" clutch in the TA is not releasing when you press the clutch pedal. Both the TA direct clutch and the main engine clutch have to release in order for you to be able to shift smoothly.

However, since it's only in 5th gear there may be something else wrong.
