Oil filter gasket

My local auto parts dealer sent me a Wix engine oil filter for my W-400. There is no gasket and I have already destroyed the old one. Is this omission an error on their part or can I expect the next filter to be the same?

I believe the Wix filters don't come with the gasket. I may have an extra one of those gaskets. I will check tomorrow. Shoot me an email [email protected]

I get mine from Car Quest made by Wix and they alwasys have a gasket.

My 51172 Wix filter always comes with a gasket. So does the NAPA 1172 (made by Wix).

I got a Wix filter for an M last year. No gasket. Got one from IH. Only $7.00 (ouch)

Baldwin puts gaskets with the filter. So does Case IH. Yes, I have extras if you don't find one. I never throw anything away and I seldom change the gasket.

The last IH oil filters I got from Baldwin I had to buy the gaskets separate.

The Baldwin filters that I keep in stock all come with a gasket.

The last 5 wix filters i've bought for my farmalls didn't come with gaskets. I beleive it's a sign of the times. I bought a bag of them I think it was $5.00 for 10 but not sure, I replace them every other filter change.

Its the people hired by the companies tp put the ring in the box.....I have bought several from each of the manufactures below. Some have it, some dont. The last filter I got from Case/IH/Whateverthehecktheyarecallingthemselves thesedays did NOT have the gasket in it, but the guy behind the counter looked through his others until he found one that did.
