1466 cab noise

Hello,
I have a '72 IH 1466 with a factory cab. I was wondering if there was anyway to quiet the cab. All the foam(cab liner) is gone so I know it needs that. Does the foam make a big difference?
Thanks, YC

Yes...the cab lining does help quiet it down. Prevents the sound from bouncing all over by absorbing it and deadening (if that's a word) the noise.

I like using Fehr for their cab parts. The ones I've gotten from them are very good. Link for the 1466 is below.

I had some carpet and some carpet mat left over from redoing a few bedrooms. Put the mat and carpet on the cab floor and it really helped with the noise from the drivetrain. You definately need the foam stuff on the top inside, this will absorb a lot of noise too. The sides arent as important but will also help with the noise. It also helps to get the exhaust over the cab 6" or so. I have mine the same height as the cab for clearance getting into a low barn and without the extension it does make a difference. It won't be as quiet as the 86 series cab, but in my opinion the 66's are more reliable and easier to work on.
